Glaucoma

Went to CGH's eye specialist and was suspected for Glaucoma.
Going back for e follow up in a month time.
hopefully it's not...

I've missed cell group meeting for the third time.
Down with a very very bad flu.
And now this news startled me.
I really don't want to miss church service this sunday.
I miss-ed them...

God, provide me with a healthy body.
Take away all the viruses in me.

Glaucoma
Glaucoma accounts for 40% of blindness in Singapore. It is an eye disease where the fluid pressure within the eyeball is too high and damages the optic nerve, which carries visual impulses from the eye to the brain. This pressure build-up occurs because of an imbalance between the production and drainage of fluid within the eyeball.

Glaucoma is damaging to sight because the raised pressure can injure the delicate nerve fibres contained in the retina and the optic nerve at the back of the eyeball.
The vast majority of cases develop slowly, and the patient is normally not aware of the gradual loss of sight until very late in the disease when vision is seriously affected.

Different Types Of Glaucoma

Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma
This accounts for the majority of glaucoma cases in most countries. It affects the elderly and middle-aged. Relatives of people with glaucoma have a higher risk of having the disease as it may be inherited. The glaucoma progresses slowly and is often not noticed by the patient, as there are usually no symptoms like pain or redness. Peripheral (ie side) vision and night vision are gradually affected first. Central reading vision is affected only very late.

Acute Angle Closure
This form of glaucoma usually affects middle-aged and elderly Chinese women in Singapore. Due to a sudden blockage of the fluid outflow channel, there is a rapid, drastic rise in the fluid pressure within the eye. This results in eye pain, redness, headache, nausea and vomiting. Blurred vision and coloured rings around lights are accompanying symptoms.

Chronic Angle-Closure Glaucoma
Like Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma, this form of glaucoma progresses gradually, and often goes unnoticed for a long time. It results from progressive blockage of the drainage channels of the eyeball, and a slow prolonged rise in pressure.

Secondary Glaucoma
This is sometimes caused by inflammation of the eyeball or when a cataract becomes too advanced and swollen. Other causes are tumours, injuries and surgery to the eyeball.

An Affinity Btw Com and Owner

When the computers fall sick, it's owner fall sick as well.
Down with a bad flu- viral infection again....

Stayed at home most of the day since friday's evening.
Except for Saturday which i had to work @ Bedok's job fair.

I missed CG on Friday
I cancelled all my activities on Sunday.
Missed projection's duty, church service, bible study
postponed YanLing's tuition.
Slept the whole day.

Got referred to Eye Specialist at CGH next Friday since i had blurred vision and not fully recovered.
Hopefully it's just some minor issue.

I might be getting a new lappy soon, since the current one finally crashed on me after reformatting it twice.
LOLS.

Was thinking if i should get it during the IT show which is 3 weeks away
or maybe i should get a handphone with wireless feature to replace my lappy for the time being...
Though Erni said a lappy is definitely better than the wireless hp which has restrictions..
Hmmm...

As usual...

Went to doctor to check on my eye again.
Hai, will take weeks to recover.
Dumb dumb eye.
Bought an eye patch to protect and cure my lazy eye.

Went to orthodontist as well.
Gonna extract 2 or 3 teeth next month.
And eunice laughed at me when i told her that...
She called me "Bo-Gay"
Lols...

Added some separators to the gonna-be-extracted teeth.
My teeth felt so sore and my pronounciation is so unclear now!
Haha. Back to semi-solid food again.

I think my energy level is deteriorating.
Hmm, issit the correct word to use?
Tried the monkey's bar yesterday.
I can only managed to swing to the fourth bar.
Usually i could swing all the way to the end.
I think i acted like a monkey lol.

Felt demoralised and walked 3 bustops home.
haha, i think i sounded abit dramatic...

Back to work routine.
And it's lunch time!

Today bowling competition was so challening lo.
Aww, the highest points i could get was only 84.
Quite dissappointed :(

Was hopping for at least 100pts...

Missed most of the movie for "Love Actually"
But manage to catch the story and the ending was gd.

Viral Attack

I think I am attacked by some virus.
I had flu, cough, chest pain and bones are aching.
And i am feeling cold, weak and struggling in office now.
I'm wearing 2 jackets now.
Feeling all so blank and my desk is filled with stacks of papers.
Still have to entertain all the problematic students.

But i dun feel like seeing a doctor.
It's always the same old medicine.
Antibiotics, Flu, Cough and Panadol.

Last night foot reflexology with Jessy was great.
It wasnt as painful and ticklish as i thought.
Bless-ed myself with Scoopz's ice-cream.

Finally sent out e CG's contact list :)
PNP's slides are almost done.
Gimme a little more time.
My lappy and desktop are ageing.
Any place where i can trade in for a new lappy?

Refreshed

Everyone gets tired.
Everyone needs to sleep.
After a sleep, you will be refreshed.

But i dun feel any refreshed after any sleep.
Instead, i felt worries, lethargic every time i wake up.
What lies ahead of me, i don't know.
What lies behind me had already been my past.

Today PS Tiak asked me why am i feeling so down,
my first reaction was "Oh, issit?"
And everytime, i will reply, "Maybe work bah"...

No one will ever asked me this a few years back. Lols
I was always happy-go-lucky.

But now, things has taken a change.
Does age matters?
John asked why do i work so hard?
I also dunno the answer.
Maybe it's the society that we are living in bah.

Talking about gratitude, i missed out alot of points that i wana share.
First thing first,
I wana give thanks to PS Tiak, PS Ding, Eugene Ang, SinMing, Justina, John, Loyalle, Xiang, Shella and other YAs members; Danny, Jessy, Yenting, SoonLin and others church members and friends who have encouraged me, supported me, helped me and my family over these few months.

I also want to thank God that all the administrative things have been settled quite smoothly.
It's all God's grace and love that we are able to manage till now.
And I am glad that I'm still in church; serving in media team and in core group.

Year 2009 will be a year of Endurance, full of challenges that awaits me.

I'm still pondering how to struggle btw work and studies (if i can get in).
I have set high targets for myself. So high that i can't even believe.
I gave myself 5 projects till year end.

Yesterday had Econs class.
Today had Fire Safety briefing.
WooHoo..
Earned another training hours.
Learned so much about evacuation and handling fire.
Didnt know fire is that dangerous.
Reminding of the pictures in the ppt slides made me puke..

Gonna have some precautions at home liao.
Haha, i love to learn new skills.
I'm glad throughout my 21 years, i have learnt these:

Now, i am self studying on accounting and Photoshop CS2.
Reading up books on "inspirational books", cooking books and web designing.

As one said, one is never too old to learn.

Was on MC for 2 days :(
2 eyedrops, anitibiotics, ointment...
My 6 months promise was broken...

Last time, whenever i was on MC, i would be online.
But nowadays, when i am on MC, i will be offline.
Lols.
Online on wkdays -means @ work
Offline on wkdays- means @ home

Still recovering from my swollen eye.

By e way, i've registered Bsc in Econs and Mgt in SIM.
Got lost twice to SIM :"(
Will try my luck on uniSIM- Business Analytics once application is opened.

And i crashed into July's Econs class today.
It was fun.
